Alternative Village Fete: Dark Materials Programme, Tattershall Castle, Lincolnshire
As a part of the acclaimed Alternative Village Fete Tour 2011, presented at The National Theatre Watch this Space Festival and Brighton White Night Festival, we were delighted to present the Fete at National Trust property Tattershall Castle, Lincolnshire – A stunning six storey red-brick medieval castle build by Ralph Cromwell, Lord Treasurer of England in 1434, which will be part of the new ‘Dark Materials’ Programme – A month-long series of art commissions and events which brought together an unlikely alliance between devotees of the National Trust, Biker Culture and related themes. With Heavy Metal face painting, best-in-show motorbike & biker beauty contest, rockabilly barn dancing, corsetry demos and other neo-gothic delights.
Artists included: Cut a Shine Collective, Tom Marshman, 815Agency, Phiona Richards, Joe Rush, Anna Hunt, Victoria Melody, Made in China, Nu Urban Gardeners, and more….hosted by MC Paul L Martin.
