Myatt’s Fields Park Tea Dance by Ragroof Theatre, featuring Ida Barr’s Mash-up

When: 20th June 2010
Where: Ragroof Theatre

Ragroof Theatre and Ida Barr invited all to join them on the band stand in Myatt’s Fields Park for a glorious afternoon of tea, cake, dancing, music hall and rap, with a distinctively inter-generational theme! With local performers ranging in age from 6yrs – 92yrs, everyone was invited to take part in this unique participatory dance and song event.

Ida Barr’s Mash-up. Christopher Green’s notorious and hilarious persona Ida Barr and friends, Stockwell Good Neighbours and Peckham Shed Youth Theatre, lead an inspired music hall/rap fusion sing off.

Ragroof’s Tea Dance: The audience hit the floor with DJ Champagne Charlie spinning tunes from the 20’s to the 40’s. With instant dance classes with Dorothy’s shoes, everyone could take part! Performances by local groups: Moving into Age, McApline School of Dance, Salsateca.

Supported by: The Arts Council of England, City Bridge Trust, Cowling & Wilcox, The New Dewaniam, Camberwell Arts, The Heritage Lottery Fund, Southwark Council
