Light it!

For the first time, a beautiful Victorian park in South London was transformed into a dynamic performance space to celebrate the start of Winter, with multi-sensory performances by a range of artists and hundreds of local people.

Light it!… a festival of light was a two-hour long spectacular promenade event, which used light as a magical, transformative and spiritual force, cross-referencing the major festivals of Diwali, Halloween, Eid Al Fitr, Fireworks Night, Day of the Dead and Channukah, which are all variously celebrated by local communities.

This event and others being planned by home in Myatt’s Fields Park, forms part of the £1.6million regeneration bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for the park. This bid is a collaboration between the Myatt’s Fields Park Project Group and Lambeth Council.
