'Monkey King' Mad For Real Special Salon Event Mad for Real Monkey King at home

Monkey is a story mingled with Chinese fables, fairy tales, legends and superstitions, alongside Daoist and Buddhist religions.
Dressed as the Monkey King characters, artists Cai Yuan and JJ Xi (Mad for Real) cooked a Chinese meal for the audience whilst their film, 'Monkey King' (commissioned by the British Museum) was screened. This short film, in which they create a contemporary interpretation of this great Chinese classic, uses the British museum as a metaphor for the Heavenly Palace. Commissioned by British Museum
