Hastings Pride: Reel Queers

Hastings Pride: Reel Queers

Join us on Monday 19 August from 7pm for Reel Queers, an evening of short films, television clips and found footage celebrating queer women* on screen over the past 50 years since the Stonewall riots.

Curated by local wife and wife team Sarah and Vanessa Farinha, the night will feature a personal selection of seminal film and TV highlights from Prisoner Cell Block H to The L Word along with short independent LGBTQ+ films and will include a chance to meet and discuss the films with some of the filmmakers.

This is a pay-what-you-can event, all money raised on the door will go directly to Hastings Pride. Location will be announced shortly.

More info on the curators:

Sarah Farinha is a BAFTA winning screenwriter who writes for film & TV.

Sarah’s recent article about her personal experiences of sexuality being influenced by television can be read on the official BAFTA website.

*We believe Queer women are an awesome and diverse group of people, including cisgender and trans women who may be bisexual, lesbian, pansexual, asexual and/or gender fluid.
