A self-guided trail through LGBTQIA+ histories in the Hastings Museum & Art Gallery collection.
Produced by the Hastings Queer History Collective, the Queer History Trail Map invites you to explore the Museum in a new way. Pick up the map and wander through the galleries, discovering queer stories connected to objects already in the Museum’s collection.
Some histories are well-known. Others are unexpected. Together they reveal moments of love, secrecy, resistance and community that run through the Museum’s displays.
Along the trail you’ll encounter people such as Anne Lister and Derek Jarman, uncover surprising histories on the south coast and see familiar objects through a different lens.
Pick up the Queer History Trail Map at the rection area inside Hastings Museum & Art Gallery or download online then set off to find the LGBTQIA+ histories hidden across the collection.
