Access weekends
On the last Saturday and Sunday of each month from 2pm-4pm, our volunteer Community Curators will be present in the exhibition to offer support, answer questions and assist visitors in engaging with the exhibition.
The Museum

Museum Visitor Services Assistants are based at reception in the shop. If you require assistance, please ask them.
Navigating the Exhibition
The Lemons, Laws & Secret Doors Exhibition is in the Long Gallery at Hastings Museum and Art Gallery.
The gallery has step-free access.
The exhibition is fully wheelchair accessible throughout.
Four cushioned seats are available in the exhibition space.
Backed chairs are available on request from reception.
Accessible toilets are available.
Free parking is available on site, including a disabled space near the entrance.
Deaf / hard of hearing visitors
Subtitles and written transcripts are included in all video and audio works.
Blind / visually impaired visitors
Each exhibit includes an audio description and spoken label text.
Audio descriptions are accessed via QR codes marked on large yellow squares on the wall.
Yellow floor signs with raised strips indicate where to stand to scan the QR codes.

A large print booklet of exhibition labels is available in the space.
Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the museum.
Neurodivergent visitors
Lighting is mixed but not bright.
Sound is low level and intermittent, including one video work with spoken text and one additional sound work that is low in volume.
The space is quieter midweek and can be busier at weekends.
