The Singer and the Song

When: 1st & 2nd September 2006
Where: Theatre Museum, Russell Street, Covent Garden London WC2

The Singer and the Song was a two day site specific live performance event that explored the use of the voice and the genre of song, and incorporated interactive installation, live performance, one to one interactions, cabaret, karaoke, children’s workshops and audience participation, by a diverse range of practitioners.
Located in the superbly kitsch environment of the Theatre Museum, with its salon-style painting gallery and studio theatre, in the heart of the West End, the project also drew on the wealth of material in the museum’s extensive archive.
The Singer and the Song tapped into contemporary obsessions with both musical theatre.
