A night of live performance, dancing and dress-up inspired by queer histories.

To mark the closing of the Lemons, Laws & Secret Doors exhibition, the Hastings Queer History Collective is throwing a party at the Hastings Sea Angling Clubhouse!

The line-up

Artist and performer Travis Alabanza hosts, taking us through the queer decades.

Travel to the 1950s with dancer Azara Meghie in Baldwin’s Room, a collaboration with award-winning queer dance duo Thick & Tight.

Head to the 1910s with Ida Barr, the world’s first music hall singer turned R&B rap superstar.

Ben BJ will be spinning all your fave queer tunes from across the decades.

Find a new friend or lover 1990s-style with the return of the Shag Tags booth, or step into the Seaweed Forager Corner and discover queer foraging life in the 1800s.

Welcoming you on the doors will be Revolting Rosy and Door Dom Dee.

The dress-up theme is Queers Through the Years.

Lovers, rebels, poets, performers, activists, artists and troublemakers - come dressed as an icon from queer history who inspires you, or create your own iconic queer look from the past.

Take part in the Queers Through the Years promenade show - an audience-participation procession where you can show off your chosen look and what inspired it. Sign up on the night to join in.

Ticket and Travel Support: A limited number of £5 community tickets are available for those on a low-income. Travel bursaries are also available for anyone facing access or safety barriers to travelling to the event. Find out more about ticket options and access support.

This event celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community in Hastings. Open to allies, friends, family and anyone who wants to come together and celebrate queer history.
